Questions

I've never coded before. Can I still come?

Yes, and you are exactly who this is for. Plenty of people at Helix will be writing their first line of code that day. There will be beginner workshops and mentors around all day whose whole job is to help you when you get stuck.

Do I need a team?

Put your answer here -- say whether students can enter solo, what the maximum team size is, and how you will help people who arrive alone find teammates.

What should I bring?

Put your answer here -- for example a laptop, a charger, and anything else students need. Say what you will do for someone who does not have a laptop.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Helix is completely free to attend.

What will I actually make?

Put your answer here -- describe the kind of projects students build, and mention that it does not have to be finished or impressive to count.

Is food provided?

Put your answer here -- say which meals are included and how you handle allergies and dietary restrictions.

Is Helix supervised? (for parents)

Put your answer here -- who is supervising, how many adults are present, whether they are staff or teachers, and what the check-in and check-out process is.

Is it overnight? (for parents)

Put your answer here -- state clearly whether students stay overnight or go home, and give exact drop-off and pick-up times and the location.

Who can we contact with questions? (for parents)

Put your answer here -- give an email address that a parent can write to, and say how quickly you reply.
